Eligibility

Applicants must have no means to afford dental care and must meet one of the following criteria:
  • Have a permanent disability
  • Are age 65 or older
  • Need medically necessary dental care (physician documentation required)
Veterans who meet the qualifications above can apply at any time, even if the county is not currently accepting applications.

Application process

Check online for a list of counties that are currently not accepting applications due to lengthy wait lists. If you have documentation from a physician stating that you cannot receive essential medical treatment due to your dental condition you can apply for the program even if you county is closed.

Dental clinic offering treatment services to help improve dental health MORE INFORMATION The Donated Dental Services (DDS) program provides free comprehensive dental care for people who cannot afford treatment.
  • Care is provided by volunteer dentists and laboratories
  • Volunteers do not provide emergency services or cosmetic treatments
  • Implants, sedation and other complex treatment plans are often beyond the scope of what can be provided.
Patients are only eligible to participate in this program one time.
