Respite provides care on a short-term basis for a person who cannot take care of themselves, and who is usually taken care of by a family member or friend. The service is designed to provide temporary coverage for the caregiver during an absence or need for relief. Learn more about this service when paid for under the waivers or the Alternative Care program in the Community-Based Services Manual. MORE INFORMATION Heartwood provides short-term residency and services for older adults. Limited availability. The Gathering at Oak Knoll Lutheran Church provides 5 hours of stimulating programming for those experiencing early to mid-stage memory loss in a safe and welcoming setting while their caregiver enjoys time for other priorities.
  • Small groups of no more than 9 participants meet on the first and third Thursdays of the month, from 10:00am - 3:00pm.
  • Participants enjoy a nutritious lunch and activities that nurture the body, soul, and spirit.
