In general, applicants must: * Be citizens or legal residents * Prove steady income * Have good credit * Income guidelines * Living in substandard housing * Maintain a savings account over a certain period of time In addition, each partner family will be required to: * Invest sweat-equity hours in building their home and others * Make an affordable down payment * Make timely mortgage payments * Attend homeowner education classes

Home ownership program that offers financial assistance to make home purchases more affordable for those that meet eligibility requirements MORE INFORMATION Habitat sells homes to families at no profit, and with no interest, on a long term loan to be repaid over 20 - 30 years. Families selected to purchase Habitat homes must contribute a minimum of 200 hours of work on their home, someone else's home, in the office, and/or on a committee.
