Eligibility

Minnesota household income at or below 200% Federal Poverty Guidelines and the household must be experiencing a housing crisis and a need for assistance. Housing assistance and services may vary by region or agency. There are FHPAP programs in all Minnesota counties and the following Tribal Nations: Bois Forte Band of Chippewa, Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, Lower Sioux Indian Community, Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, Red Lake Nation, Upper Sioux Community, White Earth Nation. Additional eligibility criteria may apply. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Serves single adults, families, youth, and veterans

The Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Program (FHPAP) helps low-income families with or without children, unaccompanied youth and single adults who are homeless or are about to become homeless. Supportive services and financial assistance with:
  • Rent deposits
  • Rent payments
  • Utility payments
Funds are limited and may not be available for all households.
