If you are a tenant in Minnesota and you are interested in your renter rights, you can receive free legal advice by calling the free Tenant Hotline: (612) 728-5767 or toll-free from greater Minnesota at (866) 866-3546; or by emailing attorneys available through the agency. For Spanish, call (612) 255-8870 For Somali, call (612) 255-8860 For Hmong, call (612) 255-7104 Does not provide in-person appointments. Call for services.

The hotline is free and available to all tenants, regardless of income.

Landlord and tenant assistance that offers help, information, and support during rental housing disputes MORE INFORMATION Provides free and low-cost legal and advocacy services for tenants in Minnesota. Tenant/landlord law advice and problem-solving includes:
  • Explanations of applicable laws
  • Procedures for legal options available to tenants
  • Providing form letters, fact sheets, excerpts from statutes, or other written information
  • Referrals to local housing inspectors, sources of emergency assistance, etc.
