Adult Residential Mental Health Crisis Stabilization Service

Eligibility
Recipients must:
  • Need residential crisis stabilization services to avoid hospitalization and return to pre-crisis level of function
  • Be assessed by a mental health crisis team, an Emergency Department physician or a mental health professional and determined to need this level of care
Application process
Authorization is not required for crisis assessment, stabilization and intervention, but is needed if the stay exceeds the maximum threshold of 10 days in a calendar month.

Southeastern Minnesota

Crisis stabilization services are mental health services, provided after crisis intervention, to help the recipient return to his/her functioning to the level it was before the crisis. A crisis assessment and intervention treatment plan are provided to the individual upon arrival at the residential crisis stabilization facility. Length of stay ranges anywhere from 1 - 10 days.
