Application process

Individuals and/or family members can contact the Lighthouse directly with the online referral form or by calling (218) 624-4828. Doctors or social service agencies may also make a referral.

Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake and St. Louis counties Some services are available statewide

Blind or visually impaired support services offer direct support to people who are blind, deaf-blind or with low vision. Programs may teach Independent Living Skills (ILS) to people with a visual impairment. MORE INFORMATION The Lighthouse's Adjustment to Blindness training program offers comprehensive, highly-individualized training that helps people with significant vision loss master the skills needed to remain involved and independent in all aspects of daily life.
