Eligibility
  • Enrolled member of Red Lake Nation or another federally recognized tribe, excluding Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe and/or First Nations of Canada
  • Family consists of at least one (1) dependent or pregnant woman
  • All school aged children must be enrolled in school
  • Live in Beltrami County
  • Meet income guidelines

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) is a temporary program to provide cash and food assistance for families to cover their basic needs. Services provided:
  • Monthly cash and food assistance
  • Case management
  • Supportive services - child care, work clothing, training/education costs, transportation, car repair and car insurance
  • Career development and contract employment
TANF clients can be referred to Ganawenindiwag, a cultural program that shares Anishinaabe cultural and traditional values with families.
