DESCRIPTION: Legal aid program that offers legal counseling and/or representation for low-income individuals, typically in the areas of disability law, elder law and family law Free or low cost legal services help people who are unable to afford a lawyer get access to the court system. MORE INFORMATION Offers free law clinics to residents of Olmsted, Dodge and Fillmore counties These sessions provide an opportunity to meet one-on-one with a volunteer attorney to ask questions, discuss options and get legal advice. The attorney does not become the attorney representing the case. Types of clinics include: * Family Law (weekly) * Financial (monthly) * Criminal Expungement (bi-monthly) * Bankruptcy (periodic) * Women's Shelter clinic (bi-monthly)

Application process

An [application](http://laocmn.org/services/eligibility-application) is required for most services: Olmsted County clinic appointments are by registration only. For clinics in Dodge and Fillmore counties, pre-registration is encouraged, but walk-ins will be seen on a first come, first served basis. Fee

Legal clinics are free. A $50 administrative fee must be paid before a referral can be made to the Volunteer Attorney Program.

Eligibility

Legal clinics are available to residents of Olmsted, Dodge and Fillmore counties. There is no income requirement for a one-time only clinic session. The Volunteer Attorney Program does have income eligibility requirements. Call or visit the website for more information.
