Veteran Benefits Assistance

DESCRIPTION: Program that helps veterans understand and obtain benefits they are entitled to by law. Help can cover topics such as: * Eligibility requirements * Payment processes * Beneficiary rights * Certificate/forms assistance * Consultation and advice * Advocacy and legal assistance to make sure benefits are obtained MORE INFORMATION Provides services for veterans with disabilities and their families Staff will work closely with Veteran service providers to assist individuals and their families with navigating the system so they can receive the benefits they are entitled to. Basic Services include: * Budgeting and money management * Benefits management * Social Security assistance * Locate housing * Interview and job skills * Problem solving skills * Independent living skills * Self-advocacy * Social recreation

Many services are available without fees. Some services (such as in-home disability services) are available through a variety of funding sources, such as the Veterans Administration, home and community based waiver programs through the state, or private pay.
