Blind or visually impaired support services offer direct support to people who are blind, deaf-blind or with low vision. Programs may teach Independent Living Skills (ILS) to people with a visual impairment. MORE INFORMATION National facility which provides evaluation, independent living skills and mobility training, short-term comprehensive vocational rehabilitation and assistance with jobs and residential placement for Americans who are deaf-blind. Resources available for the deaf and blind include:
  • Equipment distribution program
  • Technical assistance
  • Peer learning groups through Zoom
  • Evaluation and training (one day or half day) at their headquarters with experts in assistive technology, vocational services, communication, orientation, mobility and independent living.
  • Programs and services offered locally (short term training)
  • Information on combined vision and hearing loss
  • Senior Adult Services for people age 55+
  • Confident Living Program: On the Road for people over 55
