Help Paying for Basic Needs

DESCRIPTION: Offers cash or other short term aid to people in a crisis that is affecting their access to basic needs Emergency assistance can vary based upon eligibility and available funds. MORE INFORMATION Emergency Rental Assistance provides a one-time payment for eligible households that need help getting caught up on late rent or paying the security deposit and first month of rent.

Application process

There is no fee for this service.

Eligibility

* Be at least 18 years of age * Have earned income at the time of enrollment * Be a resident of Minnesota * Be a United States citizen, or eligible non-citizen * Household annual gross incomes must fall below 200% of the current federal poverty guidelines * Household net assets must be $10,000 or less * Account holder savings must come from the participant's earned income (wages/employment) * Ability to purchase the asset within a maximum of 30 months
