Eligibility
To be eligible you must:
  • Own and live in your own home
  • Have homeowners insurance and be up-to-date with mortgage and tax payments
  • Plan to remain in their home for at least two years
  • Live in Minnesota
  • Have a household income that is at or below 50% of the area median income, as determined by Housing and Urban Development (HUD). (Please contact for additional information.)
  • Must have at least one household member who is an older adults 55+ or is living with a disability

Adaptations to your home to remove barriers for people with disabilities or age-related concerns. Modifications may include wheelchair ramps, grab bars, door widening, lowering countertops and other changes to make life easier and safer. Work can range from simple changes, like replacing doorknobs with pull handles, to major structural projects such as bathroom re-design.
