This program provides support to people in abusive situations and works to reduce relationship abuse, intimate partner violence and family violence. Programs may include crisis intervention and domestic and sexual violence education and prevention. MORE INFORMATION The Domestic Abuse Service Center helps meet the needs of people who are living with domestic abuse. Services include:
  • Helps with Orders for Protection
  • Access to police and city of Minneapolis or Hennepin County prosecutors for victims of domestic abuse
  • Advocates help victims develop safety plans and access temporary housing and other services
  • Safety planning
  • There is a playroom so children can accompany their parents to the center and have a safe, age-appropriate place to wait.
Bilingual advocates are available. Languages spoken by staff include English, Spanish, Hmong, Somali, Hindi, Newari, Nepali, Telugu, Tamil, and Sanskrit. Additional interpreters are provided if needed.
