The Kinship Navigator Program assists families caring for children who are not their own, like grandparents, aunts, uncles, and close family friends, to help these individuals and families succeed. Navigators help families connect to local supports and services, including:
  • Getting assistance with everyday needs like housing, child care, food, health and transportation
  • Maintaining financial stability
  • Discovering emotional and community support networks
MORE INFORMATION The Community Caring for its Children program works to place African American children in the homes of family or fictive kin the event of child's forced removal resulting from parental allegations of neglect.
  • Each family situation is assessed and provided resources as needed, such as family group sessions.
