Eligibility

  • At least one household member is a Leech Lake Band member or another federally recognized tribe
  • Applicant is 18 years of age or older
  • Applicant has income that is less than 80% of the Federal Median Income
  • Applicant has had no felonies in the last ten years
  • Applicant is able to have utilities
  • Applicant has no outstanding debt owed to Leech Lake Housing

Application process

  • A rental program for lower income families, follows United States Median Income Guidelines.
  • Applications are accepted at the Housing Authority office or by mail, email or fax.
  • Upon receiving a complete application the application will be placed on a waiting list for an applicants choice of area.
  • Applicants receive notice of their eligibility.

  • Subsidized Low Income Rental properties: One-bedroom to four-bedroom units are available to low-income families with low rent rates.
  • Homebuyers program gives low income people the opportunity for home ownership.
  • Homeless resource program assists people to find and maintain permanent housing
  • Supportive services for rural homeless, runaway and at-risk youth
  • Offers subsidized low income rental properties with case management services targeted for veterans
