DESCRIPTION: County programs that help pay for food include: * Minnesota Food Assistance Program (MFAP) (https://mn.gov/dhs/people-we-serve/adults/economic-assistance/food-nutrition/programs-and-services/minnesota-food-assistance-program.jsp): Provides food assistance to legal noncitizens ages 50 and older who do not qualify for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program * Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) (https://mn.gov/dhs/people-we-serve/children-and-families/economic-assistance/income/programs-and-services/mfip.jsp): Helps families meet their basic needs, while helping parents move to financial stability through work * Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) (https://mn.gov/dhs/people-we-serve/adults/economic-assistance/food-nutrition/programs-and-services/supplemental-nutrition-assistance-program.jsp): Helps those with low income get the food they need for nutritious and well-balanced meals - SNAP Education and Training (https://mn.gov/dhs/snap-e-and-t/provider-dashboard): Helps SNAP recipients with employment and education training and support * Women, Infants and Children (WIC) (https://www.health.state.mn.us/people/wic): Nutrition program for eligible pregnant women, new mothers, babies and young children to eat well, learn about nutrition, and stay healthy
