To find out if there is a Carrier Alert program operating in your neighborhood or the community where an elderly or homebound loved one lives, contact the post office, or contact the National Association of Letter Carriers local office.

The Carrier Alert program can offer the comfort of knowing that someone who visits neighborhoods regularly can call for help if it is needed.
The free service has been developed especially for older adults and homebound-people who may have difficulty reaching vital services because of an accident or sudden illness.
Postal carriers watch for mail piling up or other signs of distress at an address that has been registered.
If a concern arises, the mail carrier will notify a designated contact, who can check to see if the individual is okay.
