Fall prevention helps to reduce falls by older adults. Programs can include creating awareness of risk factors, educational classes, strength and balance exercises, or assessment of in-home risks and home safety education. MORE INFORMATION Helps adults over 65 years of age who are at risk of falling due to weakness or unsteadiness while moving around. Uses strength training, balance training and walking exercises to improve endurance, flexibility and overall muscle strength to help prevent falls. A typical program is 60 minute sessions with a physical therapist working on strengthening, balance re-training and walking. The initial session is an evaluation to determine risk factors and areas to work on.
