Companionship programs provide volunteers to visit with people who are in the hospital, unable to leave their home, or socially isolated. Visitors provide conversation, reading or other social activities to help keep older adults or people with disabilities engaged. MORE INFORMATION Trained volunteers visit care receivers in their home to provide socialization and reduce isolation. Friendly telephone calls are also available.
