Eligibility

Services are generally available to people who:
  • Are over the age of 65
  • Have a disability or other health challenges such as memory loss, Parkinson's, balance issues, depressions, or diabetes
  • Live in their own home, including many types of assisted living settings. (Can also serve people in skilled nursing facilities if they are working on skills to help transition to more independent living.)

Application process

Individuals and/or family members can contact the Lighthouse directly with the online referral form or by calling (218) 624-4828. Doctors or social service agencies may also make a referral.

Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake and St. Louis counties Some services are available statewide

Technology for Healthy Aging provides the safety and independence of older adults:
  • Assessments to determine the types of Assistive Technology needed
  • Training in using and taking care of the Assistive Technology equipment
