A nursing home is a facility or part of a facility that provides nursing care to five or more persons. Residents are typically older, frail (physically weak), or chronically ill (sick often or for a long time). Nursing homes are staffed 24 hours per day by trained nursing staff including licensed nurses and registered nurse aides. Most nursing homes in Minnesota are certified to participate in federal Medicare and Medicaid programs. This provider is a licensed nursing home by the Minnesota Department of Health and is subject to periodic health and safety inspections for regulatory compliance by the Department of Health.
