Eligibility
In order to be eligible to receive a life alert system under the Lower Sioux Elder Nutrition Program services, you must be:
* An enrolled member of any tribe
* Live within the Lower Sioux Indian Health Service (IHS) service area (10 mile radius)
* Aged 65 or older and living alone
* Aged 60 or older, living alone or alone for long periods of time during the day, and with a medical condition that could require immediate attention or are recovering from major surgery, a fall, heart attack or hip replacement

Description
The Lower Sioux Elder Nutrition Program has a program offering Medical Alert Systems for eligible elders that allows people to press a button and get help if they become ill or fall. Funding for medical alert systems are not guaranteed after the first year of service.
