Beyond Hospice

A Residential Hospice Facility resembles a single-family home and is located in a residential area. The facility provides 24-hour residential and support services for a fee to terminally ill hospice patients. Hospice supports services typically include physical, emotional and/or spiritual support. The hospice residential facility can have either 1) no more than eight hospice patients; or 2) at least nine and no more than 12 hospice patients with the approval of the local governing authority. (Sec.144A.75 MN Statutes) This provider is licensed as a hospice by the Minnesota Department of Health and subject to periodic health care inspection. Many hospices are also Medicare certified.
