Eligibility

Individuals or families in need of housing who meet income and participation guidelines In general, applicants must:
  • Lack adequate housing
  • Meet financial guidelines
  • Have ability to make monthly mortgage payments
  • Invest sweat-equity hours in building their home
  • Participate in homebuyer education
  • Must live in the house for 5 years

Application process

Request application by email or phone. Documents needed include tax statements from the last three years.

Fees

Monthly housing costs are generally set at less than 30% of family income, including mortgage, taxes and insurance.

Home ownership program that offers financial assistance to make home purchases more affordable for those that meet eligibility requirements MORE INFORMATION Assists people with low income to build and own their own homes, through a network of local groups and volunteers Habitat for Humanity keeps the houses affordable by offering a zero interest mortgage and homeowners invest 250 hours of "sweat equity" per adult in the household to help build their home.
