Senior housing advisors guide families looking for assisted living, independent living or memory care. Consumer Alert: Although many senior housing advisors advertise as "free", they are for-profit services that are paid for by the housing provider that receives the new resident. Minnesotans are encouraged to obtain impartial housing assistance through Minnesota Aging Pathways at (800) 333-2433. MORE INFORMATION Provides free Senior Housing Placement and Referral Services assistance to families looking for independent living, assisted living, memory care, and in-home services for an older adult when they are no longer safe at home alone. They research the care and violation history of the communities they work with. They tour clients to their recommended communities much like a realtor shows families to new homes. They are a free community service that helps find safe and quality care options for seniors. Housing advisors are part of a national network helping older adults to find senior care, including:
  • Independent living communities
  • Assisted living
  • Memory care
  • Nursing homes
  • In-home care
