Individuals who qualify for this service need to:
  • Be receiving home care or home and community based waiver services
and either:
  • Be living in their own home and potentially benefit from assistive technology for safety, communication, community engagement or independence
or
  • Be seeking to live in their own home and need assistive technology to meet that goal

Credentials/Qualifications of Enrolled Waiver Providers

  • Assistive Technology Assessment
Offers assistive technology devices and adaptive equipment that can help people with disabilities communicate, increase their mobility and live more comfortably. Learn more about assistive technology costs that are covered through waivers in the Community-Based Services Manual. MORE INFORMATION The Technology for Home project offers person centered assistive technology consultation and technical assistance so people with disabilities can live independently. Services include:
  • Consultation to assess needs
  • Connection to resources
  • Follow up services
This program does not provide funding for the assistive technology. Offers links to information related to assistive technology, including products, services and agencies. Services are funded by a Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) Disability Services Division Technology for Home grant. Through a Dementia Grant project, LiveLife Therapy Solutions also offers:
  • Lending assistive technology devices
  • Education on the use of assistive technology devices
