Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) are authorized under the Federal Older Americans Act (OAA) and designated in Minnesota by the Minnesota Board on Aging to respond to the needs of older adults in every local community. Each (AAA) is an independent non-profit or located within a Regional Development Commission (RDC). Their shared mission is to help older adults and people with disabilities live with dignity and choices in their homes and communities for as long as possible. There are seven AAAs in Minnesota: Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging, Central Minnesota Council on Aging, Dancing Sky Area Agency on Aging, Minnesota Indian Area Agency on Aging, Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging, Southeastern Minnesota Area Agency on Aging and Trellis. They provide:
  • Planning, development, coordination, and delivery of aging and other home and community-based services
  • Administration of Title III grant funds
  • Free information and assistance through the Minnesota Aging Pathways (formerly known as the Senior LinkAge Line)
