Street Parking

Street Meter Locations within Capitol Complex (PDF)

On-street parking near the Capitol building has been affected by the restoration project. Aurora Avenue, on the south side of the Capitol, has been transformed into a pedestrian walkway. No vehicles are allowed and there is no vehicle parking.

  • Metered parking is available, but very limited, on Cedar Street and on John Ireland Boulevard on the south side of the Capitol. There are also meters on Sherburne Avenue, one block north of the Capitol building.
  • Most meters take quarters only. One quarter buys 12 minutes of parking time.
  • Please check parking information posted on meters for enforcement times.

Free Electric Vehicle Charging Station Available

Park-and-charge stations are available in Lot C and in Ramp F on the 1st Level.

  • When visiting the Capitol Complex, you can park and charge your electric vehicle for up to a maximum of four hours for free.
  • Your vehicle must be plugged in and connected to the station at all times.
  • Please note - All other parking in Lot C is contract parking only.
