With so much to see at the State Capitol during the Grand Opening, you need to focus your efforts. We’re here to help! Below we’ve identified some ideal "Photo Hot Spots" and “Selfie Stations” throughout the building. Snap a photo in one of these spots to really wow your friends and followers. Capitol Mall
The Capitol Mall is a tried-and-true selfie spot. Step into the fresh air and get a full view of the State Capitol in all its glory. Location: Building Exterior, South Side

Rotunda
Put yourself right at the center of the action in the State Capitol Rotunda. Location: Rotunda (First Floor, Near South Entrance)

Star of the North in Rotunda Floor
Check out the Rotunda from above or below to get these stellar shots. Head to the Rotunda balconies on the upper levels or head down to the ground floor and look toward the ceiling. Location: Rotunda (South Wing, Upper Levels) or Room G-15 (South Wing, Ground Level)

Capitol Dome and Chandelier
You can’t go wrong with the second-largest self-supported marble dome in the world! Point that camera lens upward and let the dome do the rest. Location: Rotunda (First Floor, Near South Entrance)

Hubert Humphrey Bust
Snap a selfie with one of Minnesota’s best: a former Minneapolis Mayor, U.S. Senator, U.S. Vice President, Presidential Candidate, and much more. Location: First Floor, Near West Grand Staircase

Governor’s Reception Room
Photographic fodder abounds here, from the epic Civil War paintings, to the ornate woodwork and gold gilding, and much more. Location: Governor’s Reception Room (First Floor, West Wing)

Angel Mural Above Supreme Court
One of the State Capitol’s most majestic vistas -- perhaps the next best thing to the heavens themselves Location: First Floor, East Stairs to Second Floor (Above Supreme Court)

Senate and House Member Desks
Experience life as a Minnesota legislator: Rise for a “Point of Personal Privilege,” and make your “aye” or “nay” vote. Location: House Chamber (Second Floor, North Wing) and Senate Chamber (Second Floor, West Wing)

Supreme Court Retiring Room
A special Grand Opening opportunity: hang out behind-the-scenes, where Supreme Court justices dwell. Location: Adjacent to Supreme Court Chamber (Second Floor, East Wing)

View from Loggia
Step out onto the newly restored Loggia and admire a fantastic view of the Capitol Mall and the Saint Paul skyline. Location: Loggia (South Side, Second Floor)

Cantilever Staircase
Don’t overlook the Capitol’s most picturesque staircase, along with the newly restored domed window at the top. Location: Where North and East Wings Meet (Northeast Corner of Rotunda/South Wing)

House Floor from House Gallery
Get a big-picture view of the House Chamber, as the public, reporters, and advocates do from the Gallery. Location: House Gallery (Third Floor, North Wing)

Quadriga Statue
Admire the golden horses of the “The Progress of the State.” Zoom in from the grass of the Capitol Mall or get a rare, up-close look by going to the 3rd floor or signing up for a Grand Opening Tour. Location: Building Exterior, South Side, Quadriga Level (accessible via building tours)

Cass Gilbert’s Room
Check out the room dedicated to the man of the hour himself, State Capitol architect Cass Gilbert. Location: Cass Gilbert Room (Room 317A, Third Floor East Hall)
