K-12 educators and administrators

Schools throughout Minnesota are essential to 2020 Census awareness. K-12 institutions are often trusted partners in their community and frequently interact with historically undercounted populations, which need to be represented in this count.

If you are part of a K-12 institution, the toolkit can help you engage your school community with these resources:

  • Census 101 handout from the U.S. Census Bureau
  • U.S. Census Bureau's K-12 partnership factsheet
  • Two U.S. Census Bureau posters for schools
  • 2020 Census residence criteria and situations
  • State Demographic Center's "Counting for Dollars" handout
  • We Count Minnesota printable bookmark design
  • We Count Minnesota logos
Are you in the classroom? The U.S. Census Bureau has a Statistics in Schools program that provides resources and lesson plans on teaching students about the census. There are plans for a range of grade level and class subjects. Learn more here.
