Supported Employment Services

A job coach may work with you as part of “ supported employment services”. This individual may help you for a while, once you get your job. They will help you as you learn your tasks, and learn how to use your accommodations.  Some job coaches work with you as long as you have your job – it depends upon your needs.

If you use assistive technology and also have a job coach, it is important that your job coach is able to help you use your assistive technology while at work.

Find out:

• What experience and training a job coach has with assistive technology.
• Do they have experience working with someone who uses assistive technology in a similar way as you?
• What types of assistive technology support are they able to provide?

Not all job coaches have the experience and skills you may need. It will be important to find someone who is a good match for you.
