New Responsibilities

Four things to remember when you enter the workforce:

  1. Accommodations are available only to those employees who choose to disclose their disability.
  2. If you are having problems with an accommodation it is up to you to let your employer know before it affects your job performance.
  3. You are responsible for anticipating your assistive technology needs.
  4. You are responsible for requesting accommodations.

If you are completing the worksheet as you go through the module, take some time now to complete Step 2. In the section “Items not listed” you can list tasks not included in Step 1 of the worksheet or A T that you feel may help you at work.
