Minnesota provides free relay services that help you communicate over the phone if you are deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, or have a speech impairment.

Video Relay Services lets you communicate by phone using American Sign Language (ASL) and a television, computer, or mobile device with a video camera and internet connection.

Once you've connected with a VRS communication assistant (CA), the assistant will place your call and relay your message using voice to the party you are calling. This way you don't need to type your message.
