Identity Access Management

Usernames and passwords made easy!

What is Identity and Access Management (IAM)?

OET's IAM service is a framework that makes managing user identities easier and more efficient. IAM makes sure that the right people can access the right services at the right time, by providing secure, authorized, authenticated access to devices, IT systems, networks and data.

Currently, the IAM service is being developed as part of an enterprise initiative. For details about the agreement, read Up to the MN.IT and the IAM Oracle overview (PDF).

Why is IAM important?

For citizens: An ever-increasing demand for online access to state services drives the development of applications that meet citizen needs, which creates new security challenges to protect the private data entrusted to your organization.

For state government: Today, state employees are using technology in new ways to collaborate with each other, and to access systems and data.

Security professionals must evaluate each new opportunity by asking the question, “How do we control access to citizen online applications and make sure our systems are secure?” The answer is OET’s Identity and Access Management service—an essential part of every strong security plan.

What are the advantages?

IAM provides a common enterprise solution for eligible organizations* that:

  • Simplifies the management of access to services
  • Implements security policy
  • Increases transparency
  • Utilizes an enterprise identity management infrastructure

OET customers benefit from cost savings by leveraging the state’s combined buying power. Using an enterprise service focuses our energies on one suite of products, and reduces training and maintenance needs.

What's included?

  • License coverage for all identity access management applications owned by eligible organizations
  • Sufficient licenses to provide IAM services to citizens, employees and business partners
  • Access to the Oracle suite of support tools
