The proposed rules of the Board of Teaching relating to the licensure requirements for teachers of Special Education , (Minnesota Rules, Chapter 8710.5800-8710.5850) have been assigned to Judge Manuel J. Cervantes.
As part of the rulemaking process, a hearing will be held on September 19, 2011, at the Minnesota Department of Education in Roseville. During the hearing, a twenty-calendar-day period will be set for the receipt of written comments regarding the proposed rules. Thus, the initial deadline for the submission of written comments in this rulemaking proceeding is 4:30 p.m. on October 10, 2011.
After the period for submission of written comments ends, state law provides the agency and all interested persons an additional period of five working days for filing a written response to any comments which were submitted during the initial comment period. New matters may not be introduced or raised during this five-day rebuttal period. The five-day rebuttal period will expire at 4:30 p.m. on October 17, 2011.
