Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint on it you can.

Every person has the right to a full, meaningful life.
A meaningful life includes relationships with friends and family. It means being able to choose how, where and with whom you spend your time. It means having your voice heard and taken into account. A meaningful life includes satisfying work. It means living where you choose and with whom you choose. It means having the opportunity to be part of your community, doing things you enjoy like going to movies, playing sports, etc. It means having the chance to learn new things and meet new people everyday and taking risks even if there's a chance you might fail.
The definition of a "meaningful life" isn't the same for every person. What is meaningful to you may not necessarily be as meaningful to your roommate, your co-worker, your neighbor or the person sitting next to you on the bus.
Society has come a long way towards embracing independence and full inclusion for every person. Stereotypes focused on limitations and isolation are being replaced by new opportunities for people with developmental disabilities to live, work and participate in their communities.
While these opportunities are expanding, it's up to each person, along with their families, to create a vision of the future and find ways and resources to make those dreams come true.
PLEASE NOTE: When you have completed this course, the last section of the last module explains how to receive your Graduation Gift. If you would also like or need a Certificate of Completion, this section also includes links to a Feedback Form and Contact Us Form which must first be completed before a Certificate is sent.
