Courses Receive 2007 Best of Web Digital Government Achievement Award

The Minnesota Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities is a winner of the 2007 Best of the Web Digital Government Achievement Award. The award is in the Government-to-Citizen category, under State Government, for the Partners in Policymaking® online courses.

The Digital Government Achievement Award is a national program that recognizes outstanding agency and department Web sites and applications that enhance information interactions, transactions and/or services. The categories include government-to-government, government-to-business, government-to-citizen, and government internal.

Best of the WebFor a decade, the leading edge of service delivery has been at the portal where governmental and educational entities have presented a single face to their respective publics. The Best of the Web (BOW) recognizes and celebrates the innovations and resulting maturity in providing solutions and communicating well with citizens, businesses or educational communities.

The Digital Government Achievement Awards focuses more specifically on e-initiative, projects and intranet applications at the infrastructure and application level. At the same time a broader and global audience is invited to participate.

The GCDD is funded under the provisions of P.L. 106-402. The federal law also provides funding to the Minnesota Disability Law Center,the state Protection and Advocacy System, and to the Institute on Community Integration, the state University Center for Excellence. The Minnesota network of programs works to increase the IPSII of people with developmental disabilities and families into community life.
