Fire Brigade Sings Praises Of Rookie Teammate
December 9, 2002

MAITLAND, AUSTRALIA--Monday's edition of the Maitland Mercury included a brief story about Rodney Stratton, one of the newest members of the local North Rothbury Rural Fire Brigade team.

Stratton, who has cerebral palsy, is affectionately known as "Wobbly" to his fellow teammates (the article does not explain why).

His brigade captain said he is impressed that Stratton has passed the same tough tests and performed the same physical tasks as all of the other fire fighters.

"He doesn't get any favours," said Captain John Ryan.
