Interest in developmental disabilities I believe that work is important and adds value to people's lives. I believe that everyone has the capacity to work and should be given the opportunity to do so. It's a privilege to work with individuals and their families in finding a good career fit.
Experience in developmental disabilities I began my career as an advocate for persons with disabilities in receiving Social Security benefits. From there, I spent 7 years working in job placement for individuals with disabilities in competitive, community jobs. I did this work with a community rehabilitation partner and also with the State of MN. I obtained my graduate degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and have been working as a Rehabilitation Counselor for the past 4 years where I work with individuals on career planning and training. I serve both adults and students with disabilities, working with transition-age youth in high schools and transition programs.
Anything else about yourself My husband and I are proud parents to 3 young children, Harper, Hemy & Graham. We also enjoy renovating old homes. We're working on and living in our second old home, built in 1916.
