ABOUT US:
The Equal Opportunity, Diversity & Inclusion (EODI) Team is fully committed to equal opportunity in employment and increasing diversity within Minnesota state government.  EODI ensures that state agencies are in compliance with state and federal non-discrimination and equal opportunity laws and policies. We oversee and monitor affirmative action, implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), equal opportunity in employment, and statewide recruitment efforts to diversify the state's workforce.  

EODI provides customer-focused solutions in attracting, hiring, retaining, and promoting a diverse workforce.  Utilizing best practices and promoting a proactive approach to affirmative action, equal opportunity, and diversity, we strive to create and foster an environment that affirms and values diversity and inclusion in the workplace. We offer technical assistance, training, and consultation to state agencies.  

EXAMPLES OF HOW WE CAN HELP:
  • Development of targeted recruitment plans and strategies for attracting and retaining a diverse workforce
  • Recommendation of external job boards, social media tools, job fairs, networking events, and more to advertise current job openings that are either no cost or low cost
  • Review of job descriptions and job postings for inclusive language 
  • Helping to connect state agencies with community partners to increase applicant pools and workforce diversity
  • Tools and resources related to affirmative action, equal opportunity, implementation of the ADA, best practices in recruitment, selection, and retention, and more 
  • Technical assistance with Affirmative Action Plans (AAP)
  • Advice on questions and concerns related to affirmative action, equal opportunity, reasonable accommodations,  and accessibility in employment and public services
  • Training on affirmative action, equal opportunity, ADA, best practices in recruitment and selection, and more
