Civic Engagement Practitioners Group meeting

About this group

The State of Minnesota is launching a Civic Engagement Practitioners group! The goal of this group is to bring together state engagement practitioners to act as a peer support, coordination, and professional development network around civic engagement efforts. The group is open to any state employee who conducts civic engagement work and will meet on a regular basis as determined by its members.

This group is a part of the Diversity and Inclusion Council’s Civic Engagement Plan, a strategic plan aimed  at moving state government to a model known as “meaningful engagement,” the intentional effort of government to facilitate meaningful dialog with all members of the public in its work and in the development of policy. The plan is focused on efforts to improve meaningful engagement with communities of color, American Indian communities, LGBTQ communities, and people with disabilities.
