An extensive collection of public health books, journals, and videos facilitates informed decision-making and sound scholarship. Any Minnesota resident or visitor may utilize materials of the Barr Library on an in-house basis or secure resources via the interlibrary loan process from the public, academic, or special library that serves them.

Our Customers
Primary users of materials and services of the Barr Library in its two locations are Minnesota Department of Health employees, Minnesota county, city, and tribal public health employees, Minnesota K-12 school health staff (school nurses, psychologists, and social workers), and employees of the Minnesota Board of Nursing and the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

Secondary users include the general public, students and researchers, and other libraries. Other state government employees lacking library services or material access may negotiate a library service contract with the Barr Library.
