Collaborative workforce development efforts in northeastern Minnesota are highlighted in the MINE special section, a publication of the Mesabi Daily News, Hibbing Daily Tribune, Grand Rapids Herald-Review and Chisholm Tribune Press.  

The article details how Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board (IRRRB), Northeast Higher Education District (NHED) and industry partners have teamed up to create high school, college and graduate level programs that address regional workforce needs. Roy Smith, director of workforce development for IRRRB and NHED, provides updates on the Applied Learning Institute, the Iron Range Higher Education Committee and the Advanced Minnesota customized training program.
