EVELETH, Minnesota – Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board (IRRRB) Commissioner Tony Sertich will attend the Iron Range Engineering: First Generation Graduation Celebration on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at The Lodge at Giants Ridge in Biwabik. The celebration is in honor of the first generation of graduates to earn their professional engineering degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato on the Iron Range. The students will participate in official commencement ceremonies on Saturday, December 10 in Mankato.
Sertich commented, “I am pleased to join in celebrating the achievements of these trailblazing graduates, most of whom already have key job placements lined up in top local and regional companies.
Iron Range Engineering is one of several innovative higher education workforce development programs supported by the IRRRB.
Also, on Thursday, December 8, Sertich will give the keynote address at the Iron Mining Association’s annual meeting and dinner at Fortune Bay Resort and Casino in Tower. His address will focus on mining’s future in Minnesota.
IRRRB is a state economic development agency headquartered in northeastern Minnesota whose mission is to invest in business, community and workforce development for the betterment of the northeastern Minnesota.
