Beginning March 1, 2012 the Board no longer issues temporary permits to practice nursing for new graduates. Recent statutory changes have removed the requirement for the Board to issue temporary permits for recent graduates of nursing programs. These "grad permits" were 60 days in length and allowed graduates to work while waiting to take the licensure exam. The licensure exam in now available almost daily and in several locations. The need for grad permits is outdated.
