Lt. Governor Prettner Solon Representing Minnesota at Great Lakes Commission Annual Meeting
September 09, 2013
On Monday, September 9, Lieutenant Governor Yvonne Prettner Solon will participate in the Great Lakes Commission’s Annual Meeting in Milwaukee, WI. During the conference, the Lieutenant Governor will join a panel discussion focused on clean water and nutrient management in the Great Lakes. She will also deliver remarks regarding steps Minnesota has taken to protect Lake Superior from degradation and improve watershed management practices.
“With more than 90,000 miles of shoreline – more than California, Florida, and Hawaii combined – it’s obvious why clean water is so important to Minnesotans,” said Lieutenant Governor Prettner Solon. “Continued collaboration between our states and provinces is essential to protecting the health of our environment and strengthening our Great Lakes economies.”
Next week’s annual meeting provides Great Lakes Commission members an opportunity to discuss specific issues facing the region. More information about next week’s conference can be found on the Great Lakes Commission website at: http://www.glc.org/meeting/agenda.html.
