June 13, 2014 - The Commission on Judicial Selection announced today it is recommending three candidates to Governor Mark Dayton for consideration to fill the current vacancy in Minnesota’s Second Judicial District. This vacancy was created upon the retirement of the Honorable Gail Chang Bohr. Judge Bohr’s seat will be chambered at St. Paul in Ramsey County.
June 11, 2014 - U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar today led a meeting with Governor Mark Dayton, Senator Al Franken, Representatives Collin Peterson and Tim Walz, and Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell to continue pressing the Administration to complete the Lewis and Clark Regional Water System (LCRWS). During the meeting, the lawmakers and Governor Dayton highlighted the need for the Administration to make good on its commitment and provide the funding necessary to connect Minnesota communities in need of water. Minnesota recently approved $22 million in state money to complete the first phase of the project, but additional funds are still needed to see the project through.

June 10, 2014 - ST. PAUL, MN – Governor Mark Dayton today helped celebrate a landmark achievement for tens of thousands of health care professionals who provide in-home care for nearly 109,000 Minnesota seniors and people with disabilities. During the 2014 Legislative Session, Governor Dayton and the Legislature enacted a 5% increase in reimbursement rates for home care workers, on top of a 1% increase enacted last year. Before these increases, the 86,500 Minnesota health care professionals who provide high-quality care for our parents, grandparents, and family members had not received a wage increase since 2009.
June 05, 2014 - ST. PAUL, MN – The expansion of St. Cloud’s River’s Edge Convention Center has been fourteen years in the making. But thanks to the Jobs Bill passed by the Legislature and signed into law by Governor Mark Dayton two weeks ago, the project is finally on track to be completed. The Jobs Bill enacted this session will provide $11.6 million in state funding to complete the remaining work on the project. When completed, the Convention Center expansion will lead to the creation of an estimated 270 new jobs, and produce an additional $20 million in economic output for the St. Cloud area per year.

These vacancies were created upon the retirements of the Honorable Thomas G. McCarthy, the Honorable Richard C. Perkins, and the Honorable Richard G. Spicer. Judge McCarthy’s seat will be chambered at Gaylord in Sibley County, Judge Perkins’ seat will be chambered at Chaska in Carver County, and Judge Spicer’s seat will be chambered at Hastings in Dakota County.
