September 23, 2013 - ST. PAUL, MN –The Commission on Judicial Selection announced today that five judgeship vacancies are occurring in Minnesota’s Fourth Judicial District Court. These vacancies were created upon the retirements of the Honorable John L. Holahan, Jr., the Honorable William R. Howard, the Honorable Marilyn J. Kaman, the Honorable Richard S. Scherer and the Honorable Lloyd B. Zimmerman. Each seat will be chambered at Minneapolis in Hennepin County.

September 17, 2013 - As a sign of respect for the victims of the shooting at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C. on September 16, 2013, Governor Mark Dayton has signed a proclamation ordering all flags at state buildings in Minnesota from today, Tuesday, September 17, 2013, until sunset on Friday, September 20, 2013.
The Honorable Barack Obama, President of the United States, issued a proclamation ordering that the flag of the United States be flown at half staff upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government throughout the United States and its territories and possessions.
September 13, 2013 - ST. PAUL, MN – Today in a letter to the Governor, Court of Appeals Judge Matthew Johnson announced that he will not seek reappointment as Chief Judge of the Minnesota Court of Appeals when his term ends on October 31, 2013. September 13, 2013 - ST. PAUL, MN – Joined by Governor Mark Dayton today at the Minnesota State Capitol, Taiwanese trade officials and business leaders signed letters of intent to purchase billions of dollars of agricultural products from farmers in Minnesota and other Midwestern states over the next two years. The Taiwanese delegation plans to purchase up to $3.5 billion of American corn and soybeans in 2014 and 2015. Taiwan is Minnesota’s sixth-largest export market, and a key trading partner for the state’s corn and soybean growers.

Individuals, businesses and other organizations are also encouraged to lower their flags in observance of the anniversary on Wednesday, September 11, 2013.
