July 14, 2014 - Minnesota’s new, nation-leading approach to delivering quality health care more efficiently for low-income individuals and families is paying off. In the first year of a program announced by the Department of Human Services and Governor Mark Dayton in 2013, six health care providers serving 100,000 Minnesotans spent $10.5 million less than projected – cost savings that will benefit Minnesota taxpayers.
July 11, 2014 - Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce ruled in favor of Minnesota workers whose jobs were put at risk due to the illegal dumping of steel in U.S. markets. The Commerce Department’s decision comes after Governor Mark Dayton sent a letter to President Obama this week urging the Administration to enforce the law, and end this illegal market activity. July 11, 2014 - OWATONNA, MN – This morning, Governor Mark Dayton helped break ground on a $9 million expansion of Daikin Applied Americas’ manufacturing facility in Owatonna. The new expansion, which received $1.45 million in state assistance from the state’s Minnesota Job Creation Fund and Minnesota Investment Fund, will create 40 new jobs in Owatonna with wages and benefits averaging $31 per hour.

July 09, 2014 - ST. PAUL, MN – The U.S. Department of Transportation assured the State of Minnesota today that the state will receive up to $5 million in “Quick Release” emergency relief funds to help fix the state’s flood-damaged roads. These funds, which will reimburse the state for emergency repair work done in the aftermath of statewide flooding, will supplement $750,000 in federal transportation funds the state received on June 23.
July 09, 2014 - ST. PAUL, MN – Today, Governor Mark Dayton requested that President Barack Obama declare a major disaster in Minnesota as a result of heavy rainstorms and flooding that began June 11. In a letter to President Obama, Governor Dayton described widespread flood damage across Minnesota, and noted that he has expanded the state’s peacetime state of emergency to include 16 additional counties – bringing the total counties impacted to 51.
July 08, 2014 - ST. PAUL, MN – On Wednesday, July 9, Governor Dayton will thank hundreds of Minnesota employers for their continuing commitment to hiring and supporting military veterans. In the morning, the Governor will provide remarks at the state’s largest Veterans Career Fair in Brooklyn Center. Later in the day, he will provide remarks at Cargill’s Yellow Ribbon ceremony as the company declares its commitment to supporting military service members and their families as a member of the state’s Beyond the Yellow Ribbon program.
July 08, 2014 - ST. PAUL, MN – It just got a little easier for military veterans who are looking for work, to find it here in Minnesota. Today, Minnesota joined three other states in a new pilot program that provides free hotel accommodations to veterans conducting job searches outside the regions where they live. Hilton Worldwide and the National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) are partnering to offer the Hilton HHonors program to veterans and their families in Minnesota, Iowa, Texas and Arizona.
