PAUL, MN –The Commission on Judicial Selection announced today it is recommending three candidates to Governor Mark Dayton for consideration to fill the current vacancy in Minnesota’s Fourth Judicial District. This vacancy was created upon the retirement of the Honorable Marilyn B. Rosenbaum, and will be chambered at Minneapolis in Hennepin County.

PAUL – Today the Minneapolis Community Development & Regulatory Service Committee forwarded a recommendation to the full Minneapolis City Council for approval of support for a $70 million two-phase expansion project under consideration by Minneapolis-based software developer Code42, contingent upon Minneapolis City Council approval on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014 and other deal terms currently under negotiation.

    October 31, 2014 - ST. PAUL, MN – On Monday, November 17, Governor Mark Dayton will convene a Rail Summit with railroad, agriculture, and industry leaders from across Minnesota.   • Klobuchar, Franken, Nolan, Dayton: Unreliable Rail Shipments of Coal Hurting Minnesota Electric Utilities, Could Push up Rates for Consumers
    October 30, 2014 - WASHINGTON, DC – U.S Senators Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken, U.S. Representative Rick Nolan, and Governor Mark Dayton today urged a key federal energy commission to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to protect Minnesota consumers from reduced utility reliability by forcing BNSF Railway Company to fix coal-delivery issues. Across Minnesota, electric utilities are watching their stockpiles of coal fall to dangerously low levels. In a letter, the group called on Chairman Cheryl LaFleur to bring together utility and railroad representatives to discuss coal delivery service issues.

    October 30, 2014 - ST. PAUL, MN – Today, Governor Mark Dayton invited Minnesotans to register for the state’s first-ever Minnesota Pheasant Summit, which will be held at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall on December 13, 2014. The Minnesota Pheasant Summit will bring together hunters, farmers, conservationists, policymakers, key members of the Governor's Cabinet, and others. During the Summit, participants will discuss strategies to increase the state’s pheasant population, improve pheasant habitat, and ensure that future generations of Minnesotans have opportunities to enjoy one of the state’s most popular and iconic game birds. Governor Dayton first announced plans for the Summit at a Pheasants Forever event last month.

    October 27, 2014 - After consulting with a team of experts in public health, medicine, ethics and law, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton and Minnesota Health Commissioner Dr. Ed Ehlinger today announced the framework for Minnesota’s plans to monitor the health of any individual returning to Minnesota after traveling from one of the countries in West Africa affected by the Ebola outbreak.
  • Governor Dayton Issues Emergency Executive Order 14-17
    October 24, 2014 - ST. PAUL, MN – Today, Governor Mark Dayton signed Emergency Executive Order 14-17, delivering emergency relief from regulations incorporated in Minnesota Statutes, section 221.0314, subdivision 9, pertaining to hours of service for motor carriers and drivers providing direct assistance in emergency relief efforts. The Emergency Executive Order will help increase propane supplies across Minnesota, improving access for farmers during the autumn harvest and enhancing the state’s preparedness for the winter heating season.
