  • Grammy Award-Winning Okee Dokee Brothers Honored by Governor Dayton
    August 20, 2013 - Today at the Minnesota State Capitol, the Grammy Award-Winning Okee Dokee Brothers – Justin Lansing and Joe Mailander – were honored by Governor Mark Dayton for their outstanding accomplishments in the performing arts. Surrounded by preschool students from the St. Paul Promise Neighborhood Freedom School, Lansing and Mailander performed their award-winning hit song “Can You Canoe,” answered questions from the children, and were presented a proclamation by Governor Dayton who has declared today, August 20, 2013, to be “Okee Dokee Brothers Day” in the State of Minnesota.
  • Governor Dayton Appoints Thomas Haluska to Fill a Minnesota Tax Court Vacancy
    August 15, 2013 - Today, Governor Mark Dayton announced the appointment of Mr. Thomas Haluska as Judge of the Minnesota Tax Court.“Minnesota’s Tax Court requires a Judge with strong moral character, and an exemplary work ethic,” said Governor Dayton. “I believe Mr. Thomas Haluska will be that judge. Mr. Haluska’s extensive knowledge of the law, strong reputation in the legal community, and successful legal career have prepared him well for success in this important position.”
  • Governor Thanks State’s Forensic Scientists for Efforts to Solve, Prevent Crimes
    August 15, 2013 - Today, at the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension’s Forensic Science Services Laboratory, Governor Mark Dayton thanked the state’s forensic scientists for the work they do every day to solve and prevent crimes. Joined by Public Safety Commissioner Romona Dohman, and Lab Director Cathy Knutson, Governor Dayton presented a proclamation designating August 11–August 17, 2013, to be ‘Forensic Science Week’ in the State of Minnesota.
  • Governor Dayton Appoints Patrick R. Rohland to Fill Fifth Judicial District Vacancy
    August 15, 2013 - ST. PAUL, MN –Today, Governor Mark Dayton announced the appointment of Mr. Patrick R. Rohland as District Court Judge in Minnesota’s Fifth Judicial District. Mr. Rohland will be replacing the Honorable David W. Peterson, who retired earlier this year. The judgeship will be chambered at Redwood Falls in Redwood County.

    August 14, 2013 - ST. PAUL, MN – A 2011 study showed that one out of every ten Minnesotans – over 580,000 people – do not always know where they will find their next meal. That means that roughly 100 million meals are missing from the plates of Minnesotans every year.
  • Governor Dayton Issues Executive Order to Strengthen Tribal Relationships with State Government Agencies
    August 08, 2013 - MAHNOMEN, MN – Joined by tribal leaders today in Mahnomen, Governor Mark Dayton signed Executive Order 13-10 directing state government agencies to implement new tribal consultation policies aimed at improving relationships and collaboration with Minnesota’s eleven Tribal Nations.
